Julia Sanwald successfully completed her doctorate on Tuesday, 10th of November, 2020. Julia worked in the field of ATG8 protein biology and focussed on the roles of GABARAP during protein secretion, intracellular trafficking and Golgi maintenance. Julia, a team member of the SFB 1208 subproject B02 and the Graduate School "MB Train", was supervised by Prof. Dr. Dieter Willbold and Dr. Silke Hoffmann.

Still, due to the currently far-reaching restrictions Julia’s defence took place only in the presence of the examiners, in part with digital connection. Unfortunately, it was not possible to celebrate the event adequately on site. Therefore, we congratulate her in this way especially cordially for passing the examination and wish Julia all the best for the future!
