18.03.2022 – From 09 to 11 March 2022, twelve invited speakers and eight project leaders from the CRC 1208 of Heinrich Heine University presented their findings in the field of membrane research, with doctoral researchers from the CRC acting as chairs guiding through the programme.
The thematic focus has traditionally been on the special molecular processes that enable and control communication and metabolic transport between cells and cell compartments in and on membranes. "Membrane transporters", "Communication in endomembrane systems", " Lipid-protein interaction" are just some of the topics. Special attention was also given to the necessary special methods combining structural, biochemical and cellular techniques to elucidate the molecular and cellular processes.
As a special feature, due to the still ongoing corona pandemic, the conference was held in partial attendance, i.e. with alternating on-site slots for participation in the lectures and on-site exchange with the guests who had travelled to the conference, in a hybrid format. This was very much appreciated by all guests and participants.
However, the embedded poster session for the presentation of the projects was conducted entirely online. This allowed for larger discussion groups without affecting the distance regulations.
